What to Expect - FAQS

What is Kids U?
Christ Fellowship Kids University is a midweek offering for kids that’s all about making them disciples of Jesus. Kids learn God’s Word through Bible engagement, interactive activities, and intentional small group time.

At Kids U, our goal is for every kid to love God and His Word through the investment of a dedicated group leader who desires to see them grow spiritually.

And parents—Kids U is for you, too! We intentionally scheduled Kids U during other on-site offerings happening during the week like Celebrate Recovery, 20s + 30s, and other onside groups and classes. The whole family can growing in their faith and in community at the same time!

What age is Kids U for?
For Babies to Preschoolers, we have Kids U Jr., and for Elementary kids (K-5), we have Kids U.

Do I have to register my child?
Parents are able to drop off their child, grade Kindergarten through 5th grade. If you plan to be off-site while your child attends Kids U, we have an off-site agreement you can complete in advance using this link. If your child has any needs we should be aware of, like food allergies, you can let us know at check-in so we can indicate this in our system.

Who leads Kids U? Can I sign up to volunteer?
The Christ Fellowship Kids team leads Kids U along with Dream Team. If you're interested in volunteering at Kids U, sign up here.

Can my kid attend both nights of Kids U?
Yes, for campuses that offer Kids U on two nights, kids can attend both nights! However, the content will be the same on both nights, so make sure your kids are prepared for that.

Can parents be off-site during Kids U?
Parents of kids in grades K – 5 can be off-site during the scheduled time frame of Kids U.

  • Check-in opens at 6:15PM
  • Programming is from 6:50 – 8:15
  • Children should be picked up no later than 8:30PM.

o If you plan to be off-site while your child attends Kids U, we have an off-site agreement you can complete in advance using this link.

Can parents pick up early?
Parents can always pick up early. However, for the elementary programming to be the most effective, we recommend parents check in their kids by 7PM and pick them up no earlier than 8:15PM.

What should my child bring?
Preschool:
Your child will receive a booklet each semester with their challenges. As they complete their challenges, they will receive stickers to be placed in their book.

Elementary:

Here are a few items we recommend purchasing to set your elementary child up for success:

  • Bible: We will be spending a lot of time in God's Word teaching your child how to study & highlight Scripture. It is important for each child to have their own Bible.   
  • Bible Tabs

  • Pin Backs

-Lanyard: Your child will receive a Kids U Lanyard. Throughout Kids U, your child will have the opportunity to add pins to their lanyard by completing challenges for each unit. 

-No Other Personal Items: We ask that all other items, such as toys, games, and phones, be left at home or with parents so that we create the best environment possible.

Midweek programming for Preschoolers

We are so excited that you have decided to have your child(ren) take part in Kids University, Jr. Each week, your preschooler will discover God’s Word through storytelling and interactive centers.  

They will also receive a booklet with challenges for them to complete at home. These challenges include Scripture memorization, family activities, and key questions. Every week, their group leader will review these with your child, and kids will receive stickers to celebrate completing their challenge and to add to their booklet!
