The weekend doesn't have to end. Keep Talking on your own or with a group.
Keep Reading – Read the scripture and ask a question to get the group thinking.
Read these Scriptures out loud:
2 Kings 5:1-14
- Take some time to read the story about Naaman. If you are familiar with this story, read it as though you’ve never heard it before.
- What stands out to you the most from this story? What aspects from this story do you see as being applicable to your life?
Acts 2:17
- This verse makes it plain that the Holy Spirit – who is often referenced in Scripture using the imagery of water – is available to everyone who has surrendered their life to Jesus as Lord and Savior.
- How are you “just adding water” to your life? Where are you actively and intentionally inviting the Holy Spirit into your life, letting Him lead and guide you, teach you, and even correct you?
Keep Talking – Choose questions to create openness.
1. Weigh Your Wounds
- As Pastor Jimmy noted, even though Naaman was “a mighty man of valor,” he still had a big ‘but’ in his life – he was a leper (2 Ki. 5:1).
- Are you honest with yourself and with others regarding the wounds you’re carrying? What are the wounds that you’re leaving undealt with costing you, your family, and your purpose?
2. Work The Word
- At the suggestion of the slave girl from Israel, Naaman sought out Elisha the prophet, to get God’s Word concerning his issue.
- What does the Word of God have to say about the wounds you’ve been carrying? Have you received prophetic words spoken over you concerning those wounds? Are you actively working those words over your situation, speaking the word over your situation?
3. Wash In The Water
- When Naaman was obedient to the word of the Lord and dipped seven times in the Jordan River, we see that “his flesh was restored like the flesh of a little child, and he was clean” (2 Ki. 5:14).
- Notice that Naaman’s skin wasn’t just restored to its condition before he contracted leprosy; God actually restored his skin to its condition when he was really young! When we’re obedient to what God tells us to do in a certain situation – even when it may not make sense to us – it is amazing how God will far exceed our expectations. What does “washing in the water” look like for you?
Keep Moving/Going – Commit to a step and live it out this week.
- This week take an honest inventory of the wounds that you’ve been ignoring or trying to cover up. Work the Word over those issues and be intentional about “washing in the water,” allowing the Holy Spirit free access to those issues and being obedient to do what He tells you.
- Pick one of this week’s key Scriptures and make it a reminder in your phone. Spend a few minutes repeating it and thinking about it each day.
- S.O.A.P out the Scripture this week.
