The weekend doesn't have to end. Keep Talking on your own or with a group.
Start Talking – Find conversation starters for the group or with a friend.
- When has a rule change affected you?
- Can you think of a moment when kindness made the news? Why do you think moments like that make such an impact?
Keep Reading – Read the Scripture and ask a question to get the group thinking.
Read these Scriptures out loud:
Gal 5:14
For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping one command: Love your neighbor as yourself.
- Why do you think loving our neighbor is so central to our faith?
- Have you experienced someone loving you as they love themselves? What was that experience like?
Luke 10:33-37
- Why was it surprising that a Samaritan was the one who stopped to help the man in need?
- What does this tell us about who we are to be kind to?
Keep Talking – Choose questions to create openness.
1. Radical kindness has the power to change someone’s future
- Pastor Julie told the story of how her mom let Pastor Julie’s sister go to the church after finding out that is where Dick Smith went to church. How does it change your outlook throughout the day knowing that our actions are not only a reflection of the Church, but also a reflection of our faith?
- When has someone done a random act of kindness toward you that impacted a decision you made?
2. Radical kindness can change any relationship
- Is there someone in your life that you have a difficult time being kind to? How might showing them kindness change the relationship?
3. Radical kindness changes the picture of spiritual maturity
- How is kindness a reflection of our spiritual maturity?
- How can you grow in the area of kindness?
Keep Moving/Going – Commit to a step and live it out this week.
- Pastor Julie gave us 3 next steps this week:
1. Nix the negative
2. Point out the positive
3. Do one act of kindness each day.
What are some acts of kindness you can start doing this week?
- Pick one of this week’s key Scriptures and make it a reminder in your phone. Spend a few minutes repeating it and thinking about it each day.
- S.O.A.P out the Scripture this week.
