The weekend doesn't have to end. Keep Talking on your own or with a group.

Start Talking - Find conversation starters for the group or with a friend.

  • What are some qualities of the best boss you have had? How did those qualities affect the way you did your job?
  • As you took up Pastor Todd’s challenge from last week to “Take God to work,” what did you notice that was different from before?

Keep Reading – Read the scripture and ask a question to get the group thinking.

Read these Scriptures out loud:

Romans 12:1

So here’s what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering.
  • Other translations show this verse as talking about living our lives as “living sacrifices.” Pastor Todd shared with us that where God has appointed us, there He has anointed us.
  • Have you ever thought of your “everyday, ordinary life” as an offering? How does an understanding of being appointed and anointed for where you currently are in life impact how you think about and act in your daily life?

Colossians 3:23

Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as though you were working for the Lord and not for people.
  • What challenges do you face when trying to give 100% at work?
  • How should we do our jobs differently if working for the Lord and not for people?

Keep Talking – Choose questions to create openness.

1. God promises His presence – not an explanation

  • How does it help us face challenges knowing that God is with us and that we are not alone?
  • Do you find it difficult to trust God when you can’t see why something is happening? What lessons can you learn from Joseph’s story in the book of Genesis? What are some ways we can trust God more even when we do not have an explanation?

2. Be faithful in your now

  • In Luke 16:10-11, Jesus tells us that “Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much.”
  • If you are faithful where you are, God will get you where you need to go. What can you do in your now to be faithful and to work as “unto the Lord”?

Keep Moving/Going – Commit to a step and live it out this week.

  • What is one way you can make your workplace your mission field?
  • Pick one of this week’s key Scriptures and make it a reminder in your phone. Spend a few minutes repeating it and thinking about it each day.
  • S.O.A.P out the Scripture this week.
  • Challenge: This week, choose to be faithful in your now and continue to take God to work this week.
