If you’ve ever been blessed unexpectedly, or God prompted you to bless someone else—you know how fulfilling it feels. Here are some true stories of generosity from our Christ Fellowship family to inspire yours.

“Last year, my husband and I felt God calling us to adopt a baby. We trusted that somehow, someway, He was going to provide the finances we needed. We were on a super tight budget trying to save up for the adoption, but one day at the grocery store, we felt led to pay for the woman in front of us. It was just $8 of groceries, but she was so grateful. Later that night, we went to the 5PM service, and someone we hardly knew approached us to give us a donation toward our adoption and to pray over our family. When we got to our car that night, we opened the envelope to find a $10K check! We were in utter disbelief. Just a few days later, we received a grant for another $10K. And a few weeks after that, an unexpected family friend donated yet ANOTHER $10K. God confirmed again and again that He would provide for us. We just needed to listen to His voice. Now we get to teach our children about the miraculous blessings of God and what it looks like to trust Him.”

“We developed a special relationship with a woman who had a cleaning business. We found her because we needed someone to clean my ill mother-in-law's house. The woman ended up becoming like family to us because of how she blessed my mother-in-law with grace and love. When her business was struggling during the pandemic, she was on the verge of losing her vehicle. Though my husband and I were also struggling financially (more than we ever had), the Lord prompted us to gift her our entire emergency fund of $1,000. She graciously accepted and was able to keep her business going. She insisted on creating a plan to gradually pay us back, but we told her we did not want her to worry about that, and we did not expect her to pay it back. We seriously put our trust in God, that He would continue to provide what we need and what she needs as well, and He has been faithful to do that in so many ways—financially and otherwise!”

“From the start of my walk with God, I have always been faithful with tithing. I would see time and time again God providing for me, sometimes financially and other times through other avenues. There was a season when money was extremely tight. My mother and I had just come out of an abusive season and left everything to start new and follow God. As a result, we didn't have much financially, even though we both worked, but we were faithful with our little. One particular month it was clear we wouldn't be able to pay our mortgage. We were already barely paying our other bills and knew if we got behind, it would be a slippery slope downhill. We were doing all the right things. We served, we tithed, and we put God first in our home. Our faith was being tested like never before as we stood on God's promises that He would provide for us. We were desperate for a breakthrough. Around that time, a couple of days before the mortgage was due, one of my friends reached out to me. She shared how God had put it on her heart to bless me and handed me a check for $1,000. Immediately, I started crying as I was so overwhelmed and thankful. I hadn’t shared my need with anyone, but God knew. What I love is that not only did God provide for my mother and me, but He used the most unexpected person, an elderly widow, to bless us. Praise God!”

“When I was in high school, I worked part-time at Chick-fil-A to help fundraise for a trip I really wanted to go on. During that time, I started tithing and being a good steward with my finances. I was struggling to meet my goal, and there was part of me that wanted to stop tithing to make up the difference. But I knew that God would take care of the trip if I was meant to go. About a week out, I decided to email a few people at Chick-fil-A, not expecting them to show up. However, God showed up. Through the responses and donations I got, I was able to meet my goal a week before it was due.”

“My husband, Chris, recently spoke at the church where we first committed our lives to Christ. It was a privilege and honor to have the opportunity. They took up a love offering for him & let him know they would contact him to let him know what it was before sending. My mother-in-law visits often to watch the kids when I travel with Chris for work trips. On a recent visit God put it on my heart to bless her with $2,000. Long story short, the check that came from the love offering was over $2,000 more than what was communicated to Chris. What that taught us is that we can never outgive God! He is faithful. All He is asking for is our obedience.”
