Pastor Todd’s Daily Declarations

Because life can be stressful:

  1. I will not be anxious or frustrated because I am filled with the peace of the Holy Spirit. His grace will flow through me in every situation and conversation.

Because Julie is the most important person in the world to me:

  1. I will love the wife of my youth as my most treasured gift. I will honor her by the way I speak to her, listen to her, look at her. She will get my best and not my leftovers.

Because I want to love and lead my kids well:

  1. I am a good father, and I will remember that the greatest gift or investment I can make in my kids is to live a life in love with Jesus and His Word. That will be greater than any worldly gift I could ever afford to give them.

Because I want to love and lead my team well:

  1. I will lead my team with clarity, passion, and patience. I will always believe the best in them and ask great questions to better understand. They will know that I love them by the way I seek to understand.

Because my life influences others:

  1. I will set an example for the people following me in the words I use, the way I live, the way I love, by my faith in God, and by my purity (1 Tim. 4:12).

My purpose:

  1. Jesus is first in my life. I exist to serve and glorify Him. He is for me, and He wants me to flourish. I am disciplined, and I order my life to grow closer to Him.
  2. Because of the full, abundant life Jesus gave me, I will give my life and my leadership to create a place where people can find Him and experience the joy that comes from living out their purpose.

My people:

  1. I love my husband. I will honor him by the way I look at him, talk to him, and talk to others about him. I will make him glad that he married me.
  2. I will lead and love my kids with intentionality. I will find ways to connect with them and give them courage to do more for God’s kingdom than they ever thought possible.
  3. Because God’s Spirit is in me, I will love people without reservation and believe the best about them. I do not have to fear rejection.

My problems:

  1. I choose happiness, but I do not resist pain. I will do the hard thing and take the high road. I will press into uncomfortable situations because I know this will make me more like Jesus and produce a joy that will outlast today.
  2. My limitation is Your opportunity. Your strength is perfect, so I don’t have to be.
